What he said and shoot a heavy for caliber Berger and it'll most likely work just fine close up as well. 300g EH Bergers have worked fine for me on elk at 90 yds and to way out there.

338LM is what I’m using in particular. I’m able to pick up a case (200 rounds) of loaded 300gr Berger with Lapua brass for 768 shipped. They shoot super well out of my rifle as well.

I'm looking at it for a 300 wsm and 260 rem, my 300 ultra shoots 1 ragged hole with the 175 lrx so I'm really not not on changing that but I have a deer hunt coming that the shots are gonna be long

Nice, I really like how they shoot out of my rifle... theyre pumping out at about 2700fps so its carrying over 2200 FT-LBS at 1k yards. I switched to them in the last year so im starting to chomp at the bit to use them for spring bear.

I bet! I was just at the range today my 300 wsm liked the 190s just need to crono and see what I'm getting, I'm nervous that I will have a repeat when I was shooting the 140s out of a 260 and they did not preform well at all

Handloads they were accurate but didn't not get the performance I expected on game I shot 1 elk and 4 antelope with them and wasn't impressed as all animals required a follow up shot and meat damage was rough, for this deer hunt I don't care as a trophy hunt but I'm still nervous
