How is everyone storing batteries once the packaging is opened?

Bought a few bulk packages of alkaline batteries today, of everyday use size batteries that were on sale. Other than keeping at a constant temp, not overly warm or cold, not a wet environment, and keeping terminal from making contact; what do you do? Since I am keeping them in the basement I am going to put unopened packages in ziplock bags with moisture absorbers. Once opened, I'll put them in cartridge boxes with absorbers. When looking online some have said to coat the terminals with silicone to keep from leaking and to seal better.

We use this exact one from Amazon.

The battery tester comes in handy.

Sorry but it's not letting share the link for some reason.

Just search "battery organizer" in Amazon and it will be towards the top.

I use something like the Amazon case above except it's a soft black case and has a tester. The tester is nice to check batteries I find around the house to see if I need to toss or add to the case. I also got it off Amazon and it was fairly cheap.
