Bears and Elevations in Northcentral Idaho

Went out yesterday wolf hunting with my Fox Pro in Northcentral Idaho, and as usual was unsuccessful. However, I didn't get far from my vehicle (less than 1/4 of a mile) before I encountered a big pile of bear scat at about 3000 feet in elevation. A baiter I met also encountered bears at about the same elevation. I'm headed out again in about an hour, and I think I'll concentrate my efforts for wolves, (and bear sightings) at the same lower elevations....

We just got back from the north edge of the Frank at about 4500’ - 5500’. Plenty of deer, elk, and dandelions but very little bear sign yet...
