Yesterday I missed the biggest deer I have ever seen. Stalked into 58 yards and he happened to be bedded and broadside. Another deer in the bachelor herd got up to feed and spotted me, so I drew and took my shot at the bedded monster. It felt great but when my arrow was about halfway there he sprung to his feet and the arrow stuck into the dirt between his legs. Would have been on the money but from all I can see he jumped the string.
Anybody else had a mature muley jump the string? I’m very used to whitetails doing this, and had a blacktail/muley hybrid jump the string once, but it’s not something I thought about especially on a bedded deer.
