Does anyone know how Berger 200.20x's perform on game? Considering these for my .300wm

It seems these bullets are the most readily available and I figure they would perform similar to the 215's but wanted some confirmation

They are supposed to basically be a lighter version of the 215 and the 215 has shown to perform very well on game. In factory guns, like a Tikka 300WSM, where you have mag length restrictions these 200.20x should be a good choice

I agree. I mean they look identical to my 215's. My Bergara does not like the bullets jammed at all so there is no mag length restrictions for my .300WM. I think I might pick up a few more boxes of these and see how they do.

I was with a friend last fall that shot a good bull elk at 275 yds with the 200.20x out of a 300 wsm. Not sure of the load, muzzle velocity was about 2850. The bull was quartered away, his shot went in near the last rib. The bull took one step after the shot and collapsed. The chest cavity looked like it was full of salsa. Perfect performance IMO.

I don't know if I would be any help this year with trying them, I should be working all fall and back home near the end of the year. Until then I'll get some this time home and have them ready to try. Maybe i'll get back early!

Posted this in a different thread:

Killed a small bull elk at 331y last year with the 200.20x. Bull was broadside and hit about 3” behind the shoulder he took two steps and fell over. Insides where jello and looked similar to the elk we’ve killed with 215’s. My dad just shot a big mule deer buck at 365y with the 200.20x. The buck was quartering away on a steep downhill. The bullet went in right behind the left shoulder and came out on the right side of the brisket. The exit whole was the size of a baseball. Heart and lungs where destroyed and the buck went 15 yards. Still a very small sample size but the 200.20x has performed well for us.

300wm, 26” barrel, 200.20x doing 3050fps.

I’ve now seen four animals fall from the 200.20x. All four were shot with my 300wsm at 2970fps. First was a black bear at 200 yards. Second was a coyote at 280 yards. Then both my sons shot deer this year. One was shot at 457 and the other at 400. None of the four animals just dropped but all of them died with in 30 yards of were they were hit with a single round. All four also had exit wounds some larger then others. Like you would expect the deer that my older son shot and hit the offside shoulder had the most visible damage. I will continue to use this combo until my moose hunt next fall were I plan on hunting with the Federal 200g terminal ascent. 2F41B59E-8A3D-4CBC-B58D-A81561FE3747.jpeg

As soon as I get my new 30-06 die I will be working up a load for these in my 1:9 twist 17" '06. As long as accuracy is acceptable and repeatable I will be hunting with these starting spring '23
