I’m thinking the 200.20X might work well in my 300WSM and also 30-06. Debating whether to buy without a lot of on-game results but might buy a box or two just to try.

You might consider the 205 Elite Hunter too. B/C's are darn near the same. I have little doubt the 200.20 would work fine for hunting. I know the original 200 grain Hybrids worked great on several animals were took a few years ago.

I too am debating on trying the 200.20x in my 300 wsm as I have a SA with Accurate Mags that will limit my coal to just over 2.95”

I just bought some, have to try them out. Now to find some load data for my 300 WSM!
Psi with RL26 @ 3075, psi with rl23 @ 2980. I'll be working with rl23 as I feel it's more suited to the case. Rl26 has been great in 6.5s and 6s for me, but in larger cases more erratic and less consistent. I've found 45k off lands to shoot the best in my 9.5tw benchmark carbon. I tested all the way from 10k off to 80k off in 5k steps. My chamber was cut for 215s.

I think I also read the Berger chart wrong.

Has anyone tested to see how much of an air void from the lead to tip on the 200?

I have killed a few elk and deer with a tikka 300 wm using Berger 200gr hybrids. The 200.20x look really slippery and promising...

I am building a short-barreled 300 WSM right right now and plan to use the 200x20s. There certainly isn't much on-game performance info out there on them. The 215s are an awesome hunting bullet and the 195s suck at killing. I hope this favors the 215 side.

How short is short? I've been kicking around the idea of building a 22in 300WSM and shooting something like the 208 ELD-M or 200x20.

Are you thinking RL26, N565, or ??? I'm guessing you probably already have some ADG 300WSM brass lined up. Man, could someone PLEASE talk Lapua in to making WSM brass!

20"

Probably 565 or the new 568.

ADG is going to make some 300 WSM soon.

I've tried N565 and H1000 in the wsm. They do okay with 215s and 208 eldx due to the long bearing surface and weight. With the short body 200.20x RL23 has been best for me for speed/consistency. Rl26 does give great velocity, I never tested it too much. It would arguably do the best in the short barrel. Neck tension is the big debatable with the 300wsm. Br guys run heavy but they typically run close to lands. As you back off, neck tension has less affect on ES/SD. Here's s quickload profile for the 200.20x in a 24" pipe.

Interesting data. Would be nice if reload swiss and ADI were translated to 'merican.

What i find most interesting is the H4831sc data, that charge seems low, velocity is low, and it doesn't even get 100% powder burn. If that is accurate i'm way over pressure on my 200 gr ELDx 4831 load @ 2.90" COAL.. Velocity is pretty close though with a 23" barrel and Hodgdon lots seem to vary a lot.

Adi 2209 is H4350, ADI 2213 is 4831sc. That profile was from a year ago. N565 may be in QL now, but I don't see H1000 or adi equivalent even on that list.

Interesting that they list H4831sc and ADI 2213 with significantly different results.

Why not go with the 215’s. Think velocity will drop too much?
