So let's say I'm a beginner to advanced beginner reloader.
My rifle was built around the 210 vld. And is 1/2"
But was convinced I wanted to shoot the 215s.
I'm sure I have them .10 off lands.
But I'm getting some flyers. I felt all the shots broke clean.
But in a 5 shot group I have 4 in .3 and the 2nd round turned it into .75
300 win 76.6 h1000.
1-10 twist proof.
Maybe it just doesn't like the 215s
Or something else in my reloading process?
Using a chargemaster to drop powder.

Is the flyer consistent? As in always the 3rd or 4th or 5th shot? Have you shot multiple groups with the same result?

Are you .010 off or .100 off lands? If .010 off I’d load some further from the lands. If your .100 off I’d load them closer to the lands.
Play with seating depth a little bit. I’ve found the Hybrids seem to like a little jump sometimes.

How are you measuring you OAL? Off the Ogive or the tip of the bullet?

Doesn't seem consistent.
And it has been hard to shoot because of heat waves. So could be me but they felt good.
I'm sure its .010 off.
It could have been neck tension as well. I was just using my standard rcbs dies.
But I'm making the switch to bushing dies.
Measuring off the og with the hornady comparator.

I sent a fired case off to get modified today. As opposed to using the standard one so that should make finding and measuring that a little easier.
And I'll probably get some 210s to try.
I know it all part deal but I just hate buying and trying and having all leftovers laying around I wont use.

I would try loading a few at .030 off and see what happens. Another thing that may help is dialing up a few clicks so your group isn’t taking out your point of aim. I find it’s hard to shoot absolutely perfect groups if I don’t have a very precise aiming point.

I’m 033 off the lands and shoots great. I’ve don’t think they are that sensitive to seating? I’ve seen a lot of people set them to the magazine and work the powder load according..

I would go with the 215 hybrid over the 210. H-1000 would be a good powder to try with the 215's or 210's if that is the route you go. I am currently running H-1000 with the 215's in my 300wsm. Not sure what the velocity is or the charge is at the moment but I do know it shoots great.

The 215 is a hammer. Im not sure what rifle you have but I just had a 300wm build and chambered with a Rhian Mantha reamer, which was designed for the 215 and I ma getting amazing results. I am using VV N570 and my velocity with the 215 is right at 3100 fps. I was using the same load in my factory Remington 700 previously and it was just shy of 2900. I personally would continue to work on the 215, I think its a great bullet for any North American game.
