For me it depends on the trip, but I am going to be a bit different and go with my Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX trail Runners. Definitely heavier than what you all are taking, but... I can rotate them in with my boots for days where the terrain allows for it, and it gives me a fast and light option if I need to put a stalk on. Just another point of view to consider.. : )

If I’m backpacking I will take my Vivo Barefeet. If truck camping, usually a pair of Adidas soccer slides.

If you have a Family Dollar store near you, you may want to check out this croc knock off. Worn these the last couple years, this is a pair of Large’s. Between me and hunting buddies we’ve bought 6 pair in 2 years and they’ve always been the same price, which the price is very right.

Crocs! FTW. Plus you can take a bath in the stream with them if you have the option

75 cents? Makes you wonder how it's possible that there are still children in 3rd world countries without shoes!

I have a pair that’s very similar to those but they cost me about 10x as much. A little under $10/pair at Walmart, 7.6 oz., but the best thing about it is they’re made in the USA.

For me it's the Teva Ember Mocs every time. They're as protective as a sneaker for day time use but comfy enough to be a slipper at night. They have a special heel too that you can *actually* step on without ruining them for when you need the bathroom in the night!

Edit: This article has a good write up on the Tevas and there's also a couple on there I've now got my eye on 🤓. The camo TNF slips look cool enough to wear out.

How have the Amoji clogs worked for you? Did their sizing line up with your other footwear?
Thanks.
They worked fine. Light weight yet the sole was enough that you didnt feel it to bad with pointy rocks. If I was on the fence with size I would go up a half size so you can use your wool socks with them around camp to keep the chill off. Dont expect anything special out of the them, but for the weight and price they worked well enough. Way better than the USA dawgs they replaced

i could be brand ambassador for crocs. I hiked 3 miles up to a waterfall in costa rica with crocs. for serious travel i suggest some socks to avoid rubbing your feet raw. For extra cold truck camping i have an insulated pair that doubles as my "take out the dogs in the middle of the night" shoe. I have the rubber boat shoe sole ones (swiftwater i think theyre called) for regular duty and as my go to boat shoe. waterproof, breathable, comfortable and they float.
