These. They cost about $10, weigh about 8 oz. and have a back, so they stay on your feet when doing river crossings.

If only I could get some without having to go inside of a wal mart...
For real 'do! It's like you can feel the dregs of humanity washing up on the shores there. I'd swear I could almost feel my IQ points drop upon crossing their threshold. And WTH is it with WalMarts and people missing teeth! Ick! I almost never no there anymore since they stopped selling ammo. It's been years since I last went to one.

Neoprene scuba fin socks! Mine weigh in at 3oz for the pair, go over socks, waterproof for walking around camp, just thick enough to keep pointy things from getting through and double as great stalking shoes.
Apparently you haven't worn them around Cholla.

Usually I just bring an old pair of MotoX boot socks to wear while sleeping if it's fall and cool temps above freezing. Also like bringing the NoFear MX Jersey in my Avatar pic for sleeping in, or to wear during the hike-out when it's hot. It was already 90 F in that Avatar pic at 9am.
