Best area small game hunting northern Rockies???

I’m looking to setup a chill bachelor party. The idea is a badass cabin with good fishing and small game hunting nearby. Small game just because we can hunt and not be so serious chasing big game.

Any advice would be appreciated. I’ve been searching around online and trying to get ideas. May’ish would be ideal. I wouldn’t mind a day calling turkeys either.

Turkeys will probably be your only option in May. Could maybe shoot some prairie dogs. I'd probably look at Wyoming or Montana to fish and shoot pdogs although July would be much better.

Not much hunting going on in May.. probably just stick to some fly fishing with beers in hand.

Birds, prairie dogs, rabbits, squirrels, whatever would work. Anything we can cook up, haha.

A nice fishing trip, some pals, some beers, sounds awesome. Personally not a fan of groups, guns, and booze.

Hitting the box call early in the morning with a hangover doesn't sound fun to me.

There’ll be some sipping on some good bourbon or scotch but we’re all older, it won’t be your normal raging bachelor party. Just an excuse to get some great friends together.

Another option is a sporting clays range- what I like to call shotgun golf! Ride around in golf carts to different stations the skeet throwers are set up to throw at different angles at each one. Good time with the guys ribbing each other. I know there is one just west of Steamboat Springs not sure where other courses are.
