I didn’t want to high jack the “ best non lead bullet”. I don’t need to use non lead bullets, but if they are better I don’t care if they cost more either. I bought a 6.5 creedmoor and will use it on deer and elk. I have looked at getting some of the non lead bullets to try. But if they are no better or worse I of course don’t want to waste my money either.

If you aren't forced to use non lead there is no reason to. Especially out of a moderate creedmoor- 130 tgk or tmk. I always thought the 129 long range accubond would make a dandy creedmoor bullet.

For non-lead: Barnes 127 gr. LRX or 120 gr. TTSX are both crazy accurate and kill well, but bc will never be what a lead-core bullet will be. Personally, I couldn't get Hammers to group well but I may try again.

For lead core: Sierra tipped Game King 130gr or Berger 130gr VLD are both great. I think the Creed is best with 120-130 grain bullets. I would NOT shoot an elk with a Creedmoor unless I was forced. If that's all you have, probably the 127 LRX is best and keep shots inside 350 yards.

I have killed as many elk with my .243 as I have with my 7mm mag. and my 300wsm (which I sold). Just decided I would try something “ new”.

130 TMK shoots and performs well out of my Creedmoor. I killed game from 80 to 675 yds last year with them.

130 Tipped Game king is my current bullet of choice. We've shot several deer with them and they are great. Mine shoot 5/8" at 100 and 3" at 500. The kids and I shot a bunch of stuff in Africa with the 143 ELD-X and it performed great too. I shot an Eland and Nyala, kids shot Kudu, Impala, Waterbuck and quite a few others with it and no issues at all. Shots from 75-450 on game.

I have some of the 143 eld x. Just looking for others to try. I am ordering some 127 gr hammers, some PVA Cayuga’s and possible some badlands. And of course some Nosler accubond and partitions. Barns I’ve heard good and bad about, not sure if I will try them or not.

Try some of the light for caliber Hammer Hunters. They are fantastic bullet at normal weights and their performance only improves with lighter weight bullets.

The way the 143 ELD x have performed for me I have no need to look else where.

If lead weren't on the table, I'd look to load the scirocco, accubond/ablr, partition, A-frame around 130gr.

Its all about speed for the hammers. The 110 you can get over 3200 FPS with varget or staball. That is plenty for a mule deer.

I haven't used them but like the idea around the terminal ascent...also the 140 berger elite hunters would be a great choice for deer.
