Been kicking around getting another rifle, use will be deer and elk around 400 yds and less.

The 130 ttsx looks like it could work pretty good in the .308 diameter stuff.
Recoil has become an issue for me and brakes are out of the question. Would prefer 130 grn 270 win type recoil and less.
Any cartridges really shine with certain weight monos??

Just about any popular non magnum cartridge works fine with a 400 yard limit. Take a look at Hammer Bullets, I've had much better success with them than Barnes and they're always available.

I’ve shot lead free bullets for years out of 30 calibers, ie 30-06 and 300 win mag, and for the past five years a 270wsm. I’ve used 150’s in the 30-06 and 165/168 in the 300 win mag out to the ranges you’ve mention on animals from deer to moose and deer and elk with the 270wsm. I use 130gr for the 270wsm and they are super accurate and hammers for me. I subscribe to the next step down in weight philosophy for lead free.
