Best deal you have ever found on a piece of gear

Much of my pack is loaded with gear that I have painstakingly researched and found at often deep discounts. There are many "scores" that I am pretty darn proud of but a couple stand out to me.

The 1/2 off golite tents is a one many people I think have taken advantage of so I will leave it off.

I think my favorite is my mountain hardwear Ridge Top pants that were regular around $120 and I found 3 in my size but a discontinued color. $19 each and I bought them all. I found that I liked their fit better than my $200 westcomb mountaineering pants and wore them every day of my hunting season last year including 10 days in the brooks range.

My duck boat! Purchased for 1500$ in july of 2009. The guy had hit a submerged log so it needed a new lower unit. Repaired for 1300$ so 2800$ all said and done. It was a 2007 alumicraft MV all welded 17" with a 2005 johnson 50 hp on an ez loader trailer. I was going through all the paperwork he gave me and the original sale recipt was in there. He paid 13,500 in aug 2007 for the setup. This counts right?

About three weeks ago I ordered a Tenzing TZ 1250 pack for $140. Supposedly it was shipped today. I suspect someone put the wrong price on the website. We'll see...

My divorce in 2009! Only costed 186$! The $3,000 I saved was spent on two antelope hunts and a 4 state whitetail hunt! Can't beat that!

I can't really think of any great deals that I have gotten, but I had a hunter who bought a pair of 15X ZEISS binos for $25 at a garage sale!!! I guess the lady's husband had passed and she was getting rid of his stuff, and I suppose she saw binos at Walmart selling for $50 and priced accordingly....? My conscience would never let me accept a deal that good.

Bought a new Big Agnes Fly Creek UL3 for $50, a new First Lite Labrador for $70, $50 for a pair of Five Fingers, and that is just a few. I shop hard to find good deals on gear so I have more money to spend on the hunt.

Brand new, never used MR Crewcab with 3 load cells and top lid for $300. Normal price is close to $700. Also, last week my wife found a $695 dollar metal detector for $50 bucks.

I hardly ever purchase hunting gear at full price. If you wait long enough, it will be on sale. Best deal yet: new Kimber Montana .308 for $799

I bought a Sig P220 .45 from a good friend with maybe 200 rounds through it with the hard case, 4 conceal carry holsters, custom grip side plates and 3 magazines. All that for $500. Saved me a little over $1000.

Out of all the deals I have made the best was probably a pair of NIB swaro el 10X42 for 500 bucks. Bought them from a guy I worked with he quite the company and called me a few months later asking if I wanted them. He didn't hunt but everyone in the company had recieved swaro binos as a bonus. All the guys that had been there for a few years got el's, and the newer guys got 8x30 slc's. He told me they were the ''small ones" and he wanted 500 for them. I sent him the money and a week later a new set of el's shows up!
