I think it’s a bull. . .

A nice buck for Oregon.

This bull came in the one night I wasn’t in my stand the first week of the season.
Ain’t that the way it goes… If I sit a wallow for a morning the bull will show in the evening or vice versa… Even though he’s been there the last 2 mornings before that.

This year that bull in the trail cam pics was giving me a couple lazy bed bugles every 1/2hour or so early season but, never moved so decided to leave the wallow I was sitting and make a stalk. He was bedded in one of the few areas of that drainage where I had a chance of getting a shot. I had to make a big loop to get wind and come in through the “quiet” route. I actually pinpointed his bed pretty well and was in bow range of where I thought he was bedded. After picking every piece of the little depression apart, that I was sure he was bedded in, I still hunted to his bed and found exactly where he’d been. Never heard or saw him bust out. Re-traced my route back to wallow for evening hunt and checked my camera after seeing the muddy water. He had finally decided to go check out that bugle about 45 mins. after I left… Lesson learned. PATIENCE JACKASS! PATIENCE

If you look close at the top pic you can see my truck in the background. My son and I were sitting in it waiting for the sun to come up during his late whitetail hunt. The buck never stopped for a shot but was a good one.
