This is the first time I've ever owned any high quality glass and binocular harness. Are you guys leaving the lens caps on them while in the harness and constantly taking them on and off when it's time to use them?

Seems like a hassle. But like I said these are a step up from my first pair of Nikon's I bought 14 years ago. And would like to keep them that way.

Great optics are spendy and deserve a bit of consideration to keep them in top shape. When I'm not actively glassing on the tripod, the caps are on. For my 8X33s that are in and out of the harness all day while I'm on the move, I'll leave them off. But they get covered back up at the end of the day. All optics get a cleaning and inspection in camp every night.
NOTE: If your lenses get a coat of gritty dust, (ala Wyoming), use a soft brush and air to remove it before a micro cloth.

Also, all my hunting scopes wear a ScopeSlicker till I'm ready for the end game. Protects from both dust and weather.
