A big group of people are heading out for the rifle deer hunt this weekend. We’re pretty familiar with the area as i had an archery tag in 2014 and have accompanied 2 rifle hunts previous to that. One of the guys going with us is out there once or twice a year. Our concern is with how hot and dry this year has been if the deer are still really high compared to previous rifle hunts. Just curious if anyone has been out there recently and if the deer are higher than usual for this time of year?

I "heard" on another forum that a few does have started showing up. I haven't been up since late August, but there was no water down low and it hasn't had a lot of precip since then.
