Bow case, too small?

Just got a Plano hard case for an upcoming trip, which I’m flying to. I didn’t realize how tight a fit my bow would be inside this case. I have about 1/4” clearance on each side of the cam. Is this too tight? I’m assuming during air travel the cams may hit the sides of the case during handling. Is it something to worry about? I could pack a bit of bubble wrap on the sides of the case where the cam rests.
So, what are your thoughts?

does it move around when you close it? if not its probably fine. I bought a used bow from across the country and it show up in a cardboard box with the cam directly against the cardboard almost poking out because the box was so worn through and mishandled from the trip. Seems they are pretty durable.

I used polyethylene foam for my bow case and it is holding up very well. That and some spray adhesive might give you a little extra cushion around the cams if that's what you're worried about.

I’d pad the cams. You can use your hunting clothes instead of bubble wrap. I don’t trust airline baggage handlers to be gentle with anything.

I just put clothes around the cams and the entire bow. Gloves or wool socks are excellent padding. I prefer to remove my bow sight and take it in carry-on with all my electronics and optics.

I would get a bow sling that has padding around the cams. That will protect the cams as well as the cabling in the event you pack other gear inside the bow case.
