I am looking at a compound bow for me but I am 6'4" with 37" long arms. I have looked at Hoyt XL, but was wondering about others. I would need bows that have 31" to 32" draw lengths.

i shoot an "old" pse vendetta xl and am very happy with it. PSE makes a new evo NXT 33 that looks nice. but id rather spend the money on upgrading other gear instead of replacing something that still works exceptionally well.
ps im a 32" draw

I shoot at 32 1/2" draw. There are a heck of a lot more bows that go out that far these days than there have been in the past. Just about every manufacturer has something that will go to 31" or 32".

Hoyt Axius and RX4 Ultras will go to 32. PSE Drive XL goes to 32. Mathews Traverse goes to 32". Prime Black 5 goes to 31. PSE Evo NXT 35 LD will go to 32. Lots of good options for long draw guys these days.

APA Archery will get you into 31-33" draw length bows. Check em out at apaarchery.com. Call if you don't see your draw length we will custom make bows for the longer draw length guys.

Also look into trying a target size bow with hunting weight. 38”+ Better string angle and larger brace heights. A few with long draws: Obsession Final Pro 4t, Prime black 9, APA Black Mamba 38.

Like 5MilesBack said above, most manufacturers offer at least one bow in their lineup that will reach this draw length. I do want to point out though, what you really should look at is which ones build a true, purpose-built long draw-length model. I'm not a fan-boy but, I would suggest looking at PSE. They have the most models built specific for long DL. I've ended up settling on a PSE for my last two new bow purchases (31.5" DL). I did try other manufacturer models (BowTech, Hoyt) but ended up choosing PSE each time, for various reasons.

I am in the long arm category as well. I picked up a Matthews Traverse last year and really like it. Before that I had a PSE Beast and shot 2005 Bowtech Constitutions for 10 years. The Traverse is set up at 32.5"

Same specs as you. 6'4" with 37 inch arm length. I shoot a Matthews Halon 32-6 at 30.5" draw. I measured at 31" draw, but the D loop makes up the rest.

K so finished up some testing here during lockdown and shot my Mamba M33XR...71# at 31" draw length. Results are as follows:

arrow
375gr - 341 fps
400gr - 331 fps
425gr - 322 fps
450gr - 314 fps
475gr - 305 fps
500gr - 299 fps
525gr - 292 fps
550gr - 286 fps
575gr - 280 fps
600gr - 274 fps

We can also make this bow in 80#'s for the guys needing that extra edge. Our M35 will draw to 32" and our M38 will draw to 32.5".

I f you need longer....let me know and I wills ee what we can do!

Pm will any questions.

My jealousy is oozing...28 3/8”. I’m pulling some pretty decent weight to make up for the difference.

Im 6'4" and I have 32.5 draw. I shoot a bowtech bt mag x. Its purpose built long draw, minimum on it is 30. Bought it new last year for 800 because the shop had it sitting around for too long and wanted it gone.

PSE will have the most options for LD guys. They've always had a bow or two in their line that catered to the long draw shooters. You got nothing on DL though, a friend of mine who owns an archery shop in Virginia had to find a bow and arrow setup for an NBA player with a 35" draw. The arrows were harder to source than the bow. I think Easton cut them some to special order just to be long enough. How's that for a power stroke on a bow?

32” DL here. Have travelled around and shot most of the bows available that fit me.

Ended up picking up a Mathews Traverse this past Saturday. Felt better to me than any I had a chance to shoot. Hoyt RX3 Ultra (‘19) was a close 2nd place.

I shot a bunch when I was looking and ended up going with the Bowtech Boss. I have a 31” draw, it goes out to 32”.
