Had a pair of Briksdal for several years and really like them. Bought some SFs this year for a little insulation and stiffer sole. Just wore them on a 5 day high country hunt. I found the SFs to seem to be much higher volume than the original Briksdal.
Even with a pair of thick SOLE inserts, and a thick sock, I was maxing out the laces and could not get them tight enough. I ended up piling on leukotape on the bottom of insoles to get the boots tight enough that I wasn't sliding around on sidehills. Aside from the poor decision to bring relatively new boots on a hunt...
Does anyone know of insoles thicker than ~5mm that might salvage this purchase for me? I have been looking at SOLE, Superfeet, etc. and they all seem to max out around 5mm.
Otherwise these will probably be for sale relatively soon. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
