WTS: Browning X Bolt Stainless Stalker chambered in 300 WSM. I am the original owner. The barrel was properly broken in and tends to favor the heavier bullet weights (180 and 190 grains). This rifle was my go-to, do it all rifle and accompanied me on most of my hunting adventures in the lower 48, Alaska, and Africa. As a result, the bottom metal, trigger guard, and barrel so signs of such use.

I received this rifle back from Browning after sending it in for the Duratouch stock issue. As you can see in the pictures, it wears a brand-new stock and was bedded at Browning.

Included in the sale is an extra magazine ($40) and A Zoom Snap Caps ($10).

For an additional $60, I'd be happy to include a set of 1" Leupold Standard Rings and Bases.

Asking $875. Must go through FFL (fees will be negotiated). Feel free to PM if you have questions, etc. Thanks!

All duratouch stocks are being replaced. My Maxus shotgun with dratouch was basically melting, it is with Browning now. They also replaced my HC Speed stock.

Are they replacing the stocks even if they arent showing signs of the duratech failing? I have HC speed but the stock seems to be ok?

May I ask what the issue with the stock was?
Browning contracted the Duratouch to apply that light rubberized layer atop their rifle and shotgun stocks. After enough time or expose to certain chemicals (common gun cleaning products included), the Duratouch finish would degrade and become sticky. As a reference, think of leaving duct tape on an item then removing the tape on a hot day. New Browning rifle and shotgun stocks no longer have the finish and Browning has ceased their partnership with Duratouch. For rifle and shotguns that already have a Duratouch coating, Browning replaces the stocks at no cost to the customer. This was a result of a law suit.

For my rifle in particular, this means that the rifle has a fresh, brand new NON-Duratouch stock. Additionally, Browning bedded the new stock to my action.

Hope that provides some insights.

Thank you for the information. I have the exact same rifle and am experiencing the “melting” Duratouch myself. It’s really quite annoying as it squeaks on my jacket and absolutely everything sticks to it but it’s a really nice shooting rifle.
