So I was muzzle loader hunting for spike elk this week in Utah mountains above 10,000' with lot's of snow. A couple times it was in the 20's, and when I went to take a break, I would find a large rock that had been heating up thru out the day. Yes I used my thermorest pad piece I carry for spotting. I noticed every time I would situate the pack, the hip belt buckles would "clank". Not terribly bad, but enough for me to notice and think , "dang, I wish these had some kind of rubberized coating on them to deaden the sound". I guess I should quit resting on boulders, lol.
