Buffalo Bore 10mm recipe

I picked up a set of 10mm dies. In addition to loading some “normal” practice ammo I thought I would see if I could load something similar to buffalo bore 200 or 220 grain loads For a little practice. I would still buy theirs for use in the woods, it just pains me to practice with their stuff at $30 per magazine.

has anyone tried this? Got a recipe you like?

shooting out of a gen 4 glock 20 with a Kkm barrel if that matters.

I'm more of an Underwood guy but here is some testing I did.
These are the numbers with Longshot with X-Treme copper plated lead bullet RNFP 200gr from an EAA Witness w/ 4.6" barrel. The top section was for comparison with the same gun but manufactured ammo. All brass was once used mixed but mostly Star line. I settled on 9.5gr of the Longshot for a mean vel of 1228 for the 200gr bullet.

I loaded up some Lehigh defense 190gr monos for my g20 and was pretty impressed. We did some redneck penetration comparisons with the buffalo bore hard cast and it was very comparable. I used Lehigh defense load data and the max recommended load of long shot. Not exactly cheap for a lot of practice shooting, but certainly cheaper than buying factory loaded.

You're going to have to go above book max loads to get there. AA#9, Longshot and Blue Dot all being good powders for full power 10mm loads. Start low and work up slow with a chrono. What bullet are you going to use?
