Bull River - Cranbrook area

Anyone have any experience hunting black bear in this area? Looking at a black bear hunt here in the spring and curious about the black bear population. Was thinking there may have been some fires down in the area last year. Want to make sure there are plenty bear to hunt. Potentially be three of us hunting out of base camp. They have over 500 square miles to hunt so figure that is plenty of territory to spread us out. Will hunt primarily spot and stalk, may also use dogs.
