Buying used riflescopes

Has anyone purchased a used scope from a company without a "nofault" warranty? If so, are there any things to look for when buying online? Looking at a used zeiss conquest v4 but wary to pull the trigger without the warranty

If it's a reputable company/store I wouldn't be too scared. If they want to make that part of their business they won't make it If they aren't honest about the condition.
If it's more like a pawn shop I'd be real cautious
