Went up to about 9000’ this last weekend and man it was tough. Only saw a scarce amount of deer, but did see a few bears ( one blonde colored one) and a pine Martin. I think with the high heat and full moon, not much was moving around. Gonna go up for a day trip on Sunday. Hopefully with some better luck!!

I’ve seen some nice bucks up there. But yes definitely true. Need some weather to get them moving around a bit more. Or at least cooler temps

Nice scenery at least! I was thinking about making a day trip with the bow but a few lifelong friends want to meet on the Sac at 5 am and try to hook some Chinook. GL on the day trip.

We were up high too. Didn’t see a whole lot of deer, lots of bear sign and tracks. We were thinking the moon wasn’t doing us any favors also plus so much water everywhere doesn’t help narrow down watering holes. We’ve hunted down lower elevations some this year also and it seems like some of our “good” areas aren’t getting the use they normally do. Maybe the extra water and greenery will have everything more spread out than what has been usual in the last few drier years

Got on a couple different bucks this weekend. Ended up doing some scouting of some new area. Not enough glassing and Did a lot of hiking. 9 miles of it. But glad I saw some game... I will be back. Hopefully next time for a few days. Lol
