Going on a Colorado Archery hunt and i am looking to lighten the pack a little. Right now i have a Canon Rebel T5i with 2 lens, 18-55 and 75-300. I would really like to only take one lens and cant decide if i should take one of the two i have or to get an inbetween lens that can kind of do both close up and semi long distance. I am not great and taking photos but i like the quality of the DLSR vs my phone.

Any suggestions welcomed, even cheap camera options.
Thanks

What exactly are you trying to take pictures of? Landscape, animals, the hunters? This would be my deciding factor. Unless you're trying for animals I'm taking the 18-55. On a crop sensor this focal range relates to 29-88 which is a great all-round magnification. Remember crop sensors have a 1.6x magnification over the focal ranges indicated on the lens.

It really depends what you want to photograph. If you want to get landscape the 18-55 will be perfect but if you're trying to photograph animals you'll need the 75-300 for sure
