I finally received my barrel and I wanted to post a couple pictures and get opinions on if I’m being picky on the contour or if you think this is acceptable.

I haven’t done this exercise with my C6 barrel and I’m not going to because I would be pissed. Ignorance is bliss. It shoots great.

Basically my opinion. See how it shoots then ask questions if it's not up to snuff.

I wouldn’t be too happy personally. I ordered a criterion barrel from Northland Shooters supply and before he shipped the barrel he noticed there was something messed up with the contour. I opted to have him send it back to Criterion. They replaced it and it only added about an extra month on the timeline.

I really doubt it will cause any accuracy issues but I still would not accept the barrel. I couldn't look at that without loosing my mind! How did that even make it past QC?

Update, they sent me a return label and they plan on trying to make it right. I will update when I know more.

I mean if you pay a lot of money for a high end product I wouldn't be happy unless I received what I ordered. That's what I would be thinking.

No doubt I'd send it back. If it was off the clearance rack that'd be one thing but otherwise I'd expect better, and I'm sure they do too

Glad to hear they’re going to stand behind it and make you happy. I was looking at their barrels today.

How long was the lead time and are you swapping it out yourself?

Well now you got me wondering. Mine was just delivered a week ago and the machining and fit all was awesome. Never checked the contour and I don't know if I will.

The contour was very obvious just looking at it. I ordered it in March. I can’t get my barrel off so I will have someone do it

Wondering if that’s the reason for the taper to the shank OD.

Yes, it’s for a tikka. I don’t see any reason the muzzle end should taper like it does

I did have to go check mine ordered around the same time for a Tikka. I didn't see anything like that and from his craftsmanship, I bet he would make it right.

@snowtoy83 thanks. That’s the contour I was wanting. Far as I know, C6 and HCA are the only ones offering carbon wrap with the Tikka shank OD.

I spoke to benchmark this week, and they said no not right now. Maybe in future.
