I debating whether to build a canister stove or buy a para or small stove. My concern is pack space in either my DT3 or Longhunter Standard depending on nights out. A canister would most likely have to fit inside the pack, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried to attach a standard stove to their duplex frame between the bag & frame to save some room in the bag.

I pack a stove all of the time, but it never goes inside my pack.

The Kifaru stove bags have attachment points on them that will allow you to put it just about anywhere.

A lot of guys will also use the Grab It to hold there stoves and that works as well as anything.

What he said ^^^. To add a little, if I have room I'll put the stove right against my back, mid-pack, but usually carry it in the grabit. Depending on the lid you have the small stove also fits nicely between the pack back and your lid.
