I saw someone mention they carry their binos in a cartridge bag on their pack belt, to keep their chest clear for venting air, easy layering changes, etc.. This sounded intriguing, especially if you're wearing your backpack almost all the time anyways on backcountry hunts.

How many people do NOT use a typical chest bino harness and why do you prefer your setup?

Thanks,

Steve

I have used a belt pouch and still do sometimes. I have found that it works best if you have pouch that is reinforced to hold its shape . It can be alittle difficult to reholster if it is a floppy pouch. It is nice not to have a chest rig when I use a safari sling rifle hunt.
