What range are Antelope typically shot at?
I hope to hunt them next year but know next to nothing about them.

.257 Roy and 6.5-.284 for me. Seen everything from .222 to .300 Weatherby used. They all seem to work given effective range and marksmanship are applied.

I've killed them with 25-06, 30-06, 7mag & 284 win. Trying for one with a 50 cal muzzleloader. They can be tough critters. Accuracy at distance is important.

They are pretty easy to bring down, thin skinned and pretty light bone structure. Normally wide open space so it’s easy to watch them after the shot, go down. Even with archery equipment they are easy to get clean pass throughs. Large calibers and even any remotely “ magnum” is not needed. I have shot them with archery, black powder, 7mm mag, 270, 300 savage 7mm br ( hand gun) and a 243. The 243 and 7mm bench rest I personally feel are perfect for them. Getting within 200-300 yards is really pretty easy.

257 Weatherby pushing a Barnes 100 TSX. Did leave a nasty hole at 428 yards.

I've used 243, 270, 300 win mag, and 50 cal muzzleloader. A 25-06 or 257 weatherby would be about the ideal antelope cartridge.

I shoot my 30.06 for pretty much everything. Handloads of 165 Accubondsfor my Tikka. Took my antelope buck with 1 shot at 358 yards in the sitting with bipod position this year. Also love shooting my sons 243 at em.

When hunting Pronghorn I take my "favorite" rifle. That being my Weatherby Mark V Accumark in .257 Wby Mag. It's long, heavy, and loud, but it's stupid accurate! My buddy bought the same rifle, and it's his go to rifle as well. We both just returned from a successful CO Mule Deer hunt a week ago. We both used the same rifle on that hunt. It's a freakin' death ray.

Seen a ton of posts of guys using the 6.5 PRC on FB. Looks like an awesome round for antelope, especially using the 127 LRX's.
