Looking for some recommendations for some good cellular cameras. I cant afford those $300 cameras so looking for some good cheaper ones. A buddy got a couple spy points for a decent price but have been having trouble with 1 and it may be because of the service we arent getting pictures. The only brand I prefer to stay away from is stealth cameras (I think that's what they are) we had some normal ones a couple years ago but even in daylight they were black and white and you couldnt make out anything unless they were right up at the camera. So any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use SpyPoint cameras and pay for the premium service month to month. I purchased a couple off of Amazon when they were on sale (2 cameras for $300). It is a big upfront cost, but saves a ton of cash when I dont have to drive 200 miles to check cameras.

Wer'e running spypoint micros, Moultrie mobiles, a stealthcam vx, and a Spartan ghost. They all have their advantages but for the money the spypoints are hard to beat. They don't send the best picture but it's not bad at all, great night pics. Just ordered 2 more from academy for $106 each and you can get a $50 rebate through their referral program.

I've been using Covert cameras. I'm not crazy about their triggers, but like everything else about them.

I would definitely check out the Cuddelink system by Cuddeback. You have one cell camera and can connect it to up to 15 other cameras and get pictures from them all with one cell plan ($10-30 per month). Definitely a time and money saver and they work great!

Sorry I cant held with the type or brand but one of our Florida guys at the Alabama lease had some sort of system that the cameras communicated with each other until a cell signal was found and then it sent the picture to him. Theres not much cell in some of those bottoms but good cell on top of the ridges. I’m not a big cam guy so I didnt have an interest in buying but it did seem like a system that solved some problems.

Been using a spypoint link micro for a few months now and am happy with it for the price, 100$ on sale. Wish the photo quality was better but for the low end cell camera I guess its expected.

I just got into the cell cams this year. I have some thoughts on a couple of different brands. I'm using Spartans and Spypoints....supposed to be at different ends of the spectrum. The Spartans send me better pics, especially when I blow them up. I just have them on trails, no attractant of any kind, and I don't get a lot of pictures, so I have them set to send 8mp pics. The Spypoints don't have the option, that I know of.

The Spypoints have worked well for me. They send decent enough pics to know what I'm looking at, which is all I want. I have one that always reads 0% battery, even with brand new batteries. I have 3 of the Micros, and one Evo. They are stupid simple to set up. 1 minute, and they are good to go. The service is somehow setup through your phone number. You get a month free per cam, then you have to start buying packages... seems like about 5-$10/month per cam.

The Spartans were a little bit more work to set up...
You have to go to your cell provider and set them up on separate lines. $5/month on Verizon, and buy credits which each camera will use one of per month. Not sure what the picture limit is. One of my Spartans is giving me issues. It will not take 3 photo bursts, no matter what. The switch is wonky as well, I have to wiggle it to make the camera power up. I fully expect it to quit working entirely at some point, and hopefully Spartan will take care of it.

Neither brand has been perfect, IMO, but they both work decently. I'll include some pics from each. First from the Spartans. 246731363.jpg246621989.jpg239079645.jpg241845550.jpg243385267.jpg234016770.jpg241185880.jpg246731363.jpg246731363.jpg246621989.jpg239079645.jpg241845550.jpg243385267.jpg234016770.jpg241185880.jpg246731363.jpg246621989.jpg239079645.jpg241845550.jpg239079645.jpg241845550.jpg243385267.jpg241185880.jpg239079645.jpg234016770.jpg

I used to run Coverts. Switched to Spartan and just wish I had done it sooner.

A buddy and I bought 4 Spypoint Link Micros on sale. Neither of us have had any issues with them. For $15 unlimited pictures, it’s been a great camera.
