I have a small echo saw that has been perfect for throwing on an atv, hunting lanes, and general farm use in E TX. Sorry, I don't know the model off hand, but not hard to find...around $350 I think. The county uses them for right of way clearing as well...lots of power, but very small, can use 1 handed.

Another vote for the Stihl MS 261CM. Perfect all around saw for small properties, lots of power and not to heavy.

Man if I were you I would not even mess with a chain saw for lane clearing. Go rent a skid steer with a brush mower on it. Best thing I ever bought. Mine is rated up to 7 inch trees. You could clear everything in a couple hours. Plus it mulches the stuff up so breaks down into fertilizer much quicker.
