Mine was worn through so i looked online for a replacement set for my QAD. Didn't love the idea of spending $11 before shipping so i looked at theirs online and roughly based a pattern off of it. I think the moleskin at walmart was $1.74 and came with 6 sheets that are 4 5/8 X 3 3/8. Enough to make about 60 of these. Pattern is 2 inches long, 1/2" in the middle, and 1/4" on the ends. Straight slits are fine. No needs for notches. The cardboard pattern has notches to more easily transfer them to the back of the mole skin. Location of the notches is not critical. You could wait until you are applying it to see where they are needed for your rest. I have used this material for years and it holds up well and is dead silent.

Yep, moleskin is great and I use it.

After a dozen shots you'll notice the fur at the bottom of the V wearing off and by a couple hundred it should have smoothed out as much as it ever will. I found I needed to make the world's slightest adjustment to my rest height to compensate for this progressive wear and keep the bow in tune. Otherwise moleskin can be used with impunity on every other part of the rest and shelf.

Thanks for the tip. Wasn’t sure what to use as a suitable replacement for the stock felt.

I have been tightly wrapping my forks with yarn for quite a few years and haven't had to replace yet. Moleskin works great too.

I’ve use hockey tape in a pinch. Worked for awhile until I broke down and just bought the QAD replacement (which is actually different material than the original felt btw - it’s more of a Kevlar type tape in my opinion).

Would replacing worn out QAD felt with OEM QAD felt affect the tune at all if installed correctly? I'd think it wouldn't but I'm wondering...

Probably not. You might need to adjust your sight in the tiniest amount if you ever had to adjust it as the felt wore.

The only thing I don’t like about shrink tubing is that given the right circumstances, it can squeak during the draw cycle as the arrow glides on it.. maybe I’m using the wrong tubing?

That was my thought when folks mentioned it.
