Checking Sawyer filter integrity - can we copy the platypus QuickDraw?

If you’ve seen the platypus QuickDraw, you can check it’s integrity by filtering some water, then trying to force air through it (by turning the dirty water bag right side up) if a lot of air bubbles come thru, then it’s compromised.
Do you think this same method would work on the Sawyer filter?

I would ask Sawyer directly.
FWIW when I was cleaning my filter this past week I read thru the directions that came with it. My concern was wondering if it were possible to damage the filter by using too much pressure when backwashing. (We had to do some serious backwashing to get the filter flowing our first day out.) As I understood the directions, the only real concern for damaging the filter is freezing. They said if you suspect your filter has frozen to replace it. Otherwise with backwashing the filter should be good indefinitely. Again, take this for what it's worth, as it was gleaned from some quick reading while cleaning my filter after our most recent trip.
