I bought a new rifle in 300 win mag and will be doing the barrel break in this weekend. Hoping for a little advice on factory loads to try and thought I would share some pictures.

Topped it with a Nightforce NXS. It currently has a Harris bipod on it but I am hoping to swap it out for a javelin soon. Also, want to swap the radial break for the slayer side baffle. Just still licking my wounds from the rifle purchase with the wife.

Looking forward to load advice, I know people say Nosler trophy grades but wondering if anyone has experience with some more middle of the road priced ammo.

Thank you!

I got a print out from Christensen Arms of recommended ammo when i bought my MPR. This should be a good place to start.

I’m in the process of breaking in my 300 ridgeline. Mine has a 3-15NXS in nightforce rings on an extreme hardcore base. I’ve already swapped for the slayer brake and am using a tall spartan bipod.

Once I’m through break in I’m planning to shoot the 215 Berger’s unless the gun just won’t shoot them. I sure hope it will and based upon everything I’ve read I’m expecting sub MOA. I’ll try to keep you updated. I’m hoping to make it to the range at the end of the week.

That’s one sweet little setup! I just picked up a CR Mesa and Barrett FC, and I can totally sympathize with you regarding “licking wounds”, but like a great philosopher once said, “it’s better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission”. Oh, and to the ammo question, try some 165 and 180gr. Barnes TTSX.

Thanks for the help everyone! I’ll be trying a few of the suggestions this weekend and will report back with some groups.

Just finished load development on my ca Ridgeline 300 WM. Likes 185 Berger classic hunters over 70.9 grains of RL-22. Norma brass with Federal 215 primers ,10,000th’s off lands. Shoots in the .2’s and .3’s consistently at 100 yds. Will be shooting out to a 1000 as soon as I recover from some oral surgery. Really like this rifle. Was amazed that I could get it to shoot like some of my customs. I glass bed the action added a jewel trigger and topped it off with a nxs.

Mine shoots the 200 gr. hornady eldxs .5moa all day long. It shot the bergers well, but no one around carried them in stock. I don't reload so it was easier to run to the store and pick up some elds and be done with it.
