Christensen MPR or Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 308win?

Not sure which one. I'm wanting to get into long range shooting primarily but also be able to hunt with it if I don't get it done during bow season.

I'm thinking a 20'' barrel suppressed in a 308 win. I know a 308 win will only shoot great out to 700-750yds and I'm good with that.


Any advise or pointers I should consider?

I’d choose the Tikka. Lots of aftermarket support if you want to change anything.
FWIW, That’s a heavy rifle to hunt with unless you’re in a shooting house, or blind.

The Tikka is a great rifle, but if you want it to do double duty, the MPR is around 2 lbs lighter. It also takes AICS mags instead of proprietary $100 Tikka mags.

The Tikka is basically a complete PRS rig right out of the box, just make sure you get a mount with 20 MOA worth of cant since it's a 0 MOA rail.

What do you think of is a good barrel length for a suppressor for 308?

I had heard 20” for the back presser but I already own a SilencerCo Omega 36M that’s says it’s rated for a 308 16” barrels.

Depends on how maneuvererable you need it to be. 16-18” Would be my choice for a dedicated hunter.

I hunt mostly private land so I would be trekking it for weeks but would want to stay lite.
