Hey guys,

Im new here and I heard you need to do 10 posts to be able to sell or purchase anything through classifieds. What type of posts are we required to do? Can it be a reply to someones thread or does it need to be our own thread that we start?

I am doing the same thing. I have just been reading articles or responding to questions like yours. I first thought it was a hassle to do until I started doing it and now I feel as if I have contributed to sone ofthe forms.

I bought a few things on the classifieds last year then went to message someone recently and realized that I couldn't! Just hit 10 posts, so I am hoping I dont miss out on the stuff that I was trying to message about.

I think it's a pretty silly rule myself.

I does seem like a silly thing at first but we spend countless hours keeping spammers and hackers off the forums. This rule helps us do that. Also, keep in mind that the classifieds are a side benifit for our members and we do it for free. Asking new members to contribute by simply posting seems like a very simple request to me. The people who just want to be members so they can buy and sell things are of no concern to us at all.

Thank you and the other admins for the effort you all put into this forum. Granted I'm new here and stumbled on it while doing some research, I know there's a lot of time/effort/and sometimes money in keeping these websites and forums up and running. I'm looking forward to the added benefit of learning while being a member here and the perk of being able to buy/sell once I reach the minimum requirements. Thank you!

I like the way you think, I feel like im too much of a noob to hunting to truly post something or contribute to some threads. Great information out there though!

Everyone has to start somewhere and I am a noob to hunting as well. This site does have some great topics and info to soak up.

absolutely, i tried archery talk for awhile, which is great for some bow tuning info, but the wealth of info and variety of topics is much better here on rokslide.

Lol I don't know man, I'm not a computer guy... I don't have a whole lot to contribute right now and when I have a question I just use the search function which seems to get me my answers so there's really not a need for me to craft a post that has already been discussed.

Probably because you're not the one who has to filter out the spam bots. Besides, nobody said you need to like it.
Nobody said you needed to respond to my post either but you did, rudely at that.

I appreciate your straight forwardness. It's a great site and I've learned a lot just by using the search function. I understand the need for the rule, and I don't know jack about computer coding and such but it seems like there ought to be a better way. Again, this is just me spit balling here so pardon my ignorance. It does seem a bit odd though, that we need to create more posts for admins to filter through in order to stop bots from creating posts that admins have to filter through. I'm all for contributing when I actually have something to contribute but the search function has served me well and I haven't actually NEEDED to make a post except in order to buy something.

ANYWAY I should be at my 10th post by now. Thanks

Since I hang here for the incredible info and rarely buy anything and get ticked off at the spammers that sneak through every now and then, I was hoping that to help people see what a great forum this is and let them share some of their knowledge and not just say "HI. My name is @#!%$ and I have this great used, like new stuff to sell," that perhaps you guys should raise the number of posts required to 100.

(although that new imitation Viagra that Justin recommended works great!)
