I've killed two bulls in first rifle and my dad one. All have been herded up and one of them was in the act of what I think was a silent bugle. Did I see them getting it on? No, but they have all been acting very rutty. Archery has the potential to miss the rut also if you don't choose the right week. Finally, in Colorado over the last couple of years the shear volume of campers, hikers, and leaf peepers during archery is astronomical.
