Well I’m finally taking the dive into muzzle loading. I’m wanting to pickup a CO legal .45 cal ultralite preferably, but if someone has the equivalent in a rem UML I’d be interested as well. Just wanted to throw it out here for a couple weeks before I order from knight. Thanks!

If your planning on using it for elk I think it has to be 50cal and up

I don’t have any plans to use it for elk in CO. Just deer and antelope here. Maybe elk in other states that allow 45 cal.

Until you see a big bull while deer hunting 😁. Then you will want a 50 cal. If I had to own just one, I would choose a 50. For the distances you will shoot in Colorado with open sights, the 50 will meet or exceed a 45. After all, we are only talking about 0.05 of an inch😁

I have a Remington .50 in which I use Hornady sabots and .45-240 XTP. Best of both worlds.
Sorry, don't remember CO legal requirements--iron sights only, or something else?
