Co unit 40 muzzle loader elk hunt

I'm thinking about burning my 21 NR points on a CO unit 40 muzzle loader hunt. I'm not going to spend money on a outfitter, I'm going to hunt public (I would do a trespass hunt if anyone has info). I would like to shoot something over 300 but not looking for a monster. I'm manly looking for a fun hunt while the bulls are screaming. If anyone has done this hunt lately or has hunted the unit I would appreciate the info. Thanks in advanced.
