This looks long , I guess factory ammo must be seated fairly deep?
I’m not reloading myself, just taking a measurement for a custom loader test pack.
3.574” every time I try it. 180 gr AB, .300 WM
I have not shot the rifle yet. Brand new.

My Tikka 300 WM measured 3.600 with TTSX 180 grain and 3.599 with Partition 180 before I put a bullet down the tube. Huge jump from SAAMI spec but I load 1 at a time for now because my mag only fits 3.340.

I'm assuming that is your max CBTO, if it fits in the mag box you should be good to go.

You need to get a bullet comparator tool so you can measure CBTO rather than COAL. I'm assuming that measurement you have is the overall length to the lands. Load at 20 thousandths off the lands as a starting point and see if that fits your mag box. Then start your load workup.

^^^^ This, However you can start at 10 thousandths off the lands.... that's where I start but either one works.

Copper Creek I believe is just wanting the COAL to load a test pack for finding the sweet spot with that 180 NAB after the stage 1 charge test pack.
I guess I should check the mag box just to know.

Not surprising. Just measured distance to the lands in my new 300 WM barrel with berger 215s and COAL was roughly 3.73" at the lands. Just about perfect.

Too bad about the tikka magazine length.. Goes to show bullets can jump a long way and still be accurate.

That's true. I quickly made some spare Interlock reloads to 3.34" COAL to fit the magazine with a pretty weak powder load for the first 50 rounds in my Tikka a while ago. Still shot 1 MOA for a 10 round group at the end.
