Haha! I bring my fly fishing gear every year and I never use it. This year I left it all at home. Ended up being right next to some great trout fishing and we were tagged out early. Figures. But hey, maybe that’s the secret! I think I’ll leave all my fly fishing gear at home next year too!

Haha, sounds like you had a successful trip, congrats! I ALWAYS have my fishing gear with me. I can't stand the thought of finding some fish and not being able to catch them. I happily live with the weight penalty.

Awesome story! The pressure this year in Southern Colorado OTC units was unreal compared to the previous years. The new reg changes definitely moved some people further east. My first year ever to not hear a bugle. We covered over 15 miles per day at elevations from 9,000 to 12,000 in areas we usually have success and areas completely new. Plenty of sign, just no elk...
