Question. I drew a 2nd Choice elk license in Colorado. First Choice is Preference Points. Id like to return the tag, get money back. Do I still get to keep my PP since this was 2nd Choice? I know they do if it is first choice. Anyone have returned a 2nd Choice Tag?

Yes, you keep your PP's, they aren't tied to your 2nd choice tag.

So your saying I get my money back minus a small charge and I get to keep my 4 points that I have?

Unless you draw a “1st choice tag” preference points do not apply. They have nothing to do at all with 2nd or 3rd choice tags. So no change to your PPs and yes, you lose a little non refundable fee.

I turned back a Colorado second choice deer tag last year. Retained the preference point from my 1sr choice and got all the money back minus the application fee.
