Headed to unit 31/32 for muzz deer and bear. Was curious what the acorn and chokecherry crop is looking like around the roan. Have taken a couple bears sw Colorado in high elevation units but low elevation 8000’ hunting. Will the bears and deer both be in the same habitat like they were in sw Colorado or maybe on the oak/aspen transition zone if there’s any oaks or aspens left in 31 after the big fire last year. I know water will be
Critical in 31 and I’ll have to get there next week and leg it out to find some because it looks very limited especially with the ongoing drought.
Thanks

Cant speak to that unit specifically (41/42 is where I was) but last year I killed my bear around 8K and the only decent bucks I seen were about 300 yards away and 45 min before I shot the bear. Thick oak with a mix of quakies and on a pond that was tucked back in the trees away from the trail. Ill be going out next week. Good luck to ya!
