I am vacationing in the Mt Crested Butte area and have been spotting each evening. I have not seen the first bull. I have seen large herds of cows with calves. Some herds in excess of 40 animals. More calves than I have ever seen by far.

The elk have been hanging out in the same place for the two weeks I have been here. There is a very impressive bull among them.
