So the PSA thread got me thinking.. in the situation of day packing / scouting prior to season.
What all is in everyone’s day packs and what seems overkill?

Water purification kit (jet boil)
Emergency space heater
3 packs of dehydrated food
GPS + extra batteries
Rain gear
Extra socks (My feet seem to have an in natural attraction to getting wet)
Tarp for quick make shift shelter to get out of rain storms
Fire starter

Rain Jacket
Fire Starter
Knife
Grayl water bottle
HeadLamp
InReach
Titan Emergency Sleep Bag
Snacks for the day

Mabe a few more odds and ends but thats probably about it. I figure/hope that if I do get caught in some bad weather I just have to make it through 1 night. Especially earlier in the season.
