I call this one "Racing the Dark" There was a 59" bull moose in those trees, we couldn't get him to come out no matter how sexy the cow call, we ran out of light. Got him a few days later though!

I always thought those Remington guide rifles looked pretty cool. It's neat to see someone using one! 350 Rem Mag?

It's a model 673 in 300SAUM. I picked it up in 2005 to elk hunt with. It finally got to make that trip in 2017.

Thanks for the compliment! Have you ever had clients shoot off one of our Sentinel tripods? A lot of guys like them because they can use them for glassing, then pop their glass off and snap the client's rifle onto it to help their often sloppy shooting lol

No but the hunter in my photo did exactly that with a competitor's setup. Excellent multi use item for the back country.
I came very close to buying a Spartan tent / tripod combo this summer but with fall hunts canceled I held off. I love the idea of using a single item for multiple purposes.

Regardless of whether it's our setup or another one like an arca rail, I'm really happened to see people starting to embrace shooting off a tripod to increase accuracy. Just this week they started a 24% off sale on our Sentinel tripods, so it might be good that you held off

in that picture it is a schilen barrel cambered in 260 Remington. Now it wears a bartlein barrel chambered in 6slr. It is a cadex chassis, Savage action, Rifle Basix Trigger, accurate mags, Silencerco Hybrid suppressor. It was on a slick tripod with a Warhorse development Saracen bag. I also had a harris bipod on the back of the cadex chassis. I was able to shoot 1776 yards and have a second round impact the day after (July 4th) 2nd round impact. I also stretched out to 1990 yards and had a 4th round impact. Target was full size IPSC target

Yeah, no complaints with either. I got about 2700 rounds out of the schilen barrel and it was used in matchs so it took abuse. I just was able to find a good deal on the bartlein

Your image did an excellent job of evoking the joy that hunting can pull out of sometimes miserable situations, like early mornings and brutal weather.
