I wanted to do NL Moose after Covid. Figured the Bulls got real big. But it never happened. I already had other hunts booked.
Did anyone get a big Bull after Covid ??

I don’t understand your question. Did someone kill a moose after having COVID? What does “after COVID” mean? What does killing moose have to do with a disease?

NL was shut down for Covid. No one hunted for a full year, probably closer to 2 years. I figure in those 2 years, the Bulls must have gotten big, real big.

Ahh, I didn’t know that. Shut down entirely? That’s news to me. Or just closed, like the rest of Canada, to unvaccinated foreigners?

The outfitter I went with the last week of September said they had been killing larger bulls than normal this year. Their camps were effectively not hunted for 2 years and even though they did have some Canadian hunters last year hunt the camp I was in, those hunters shot cows & calves because they were just after meat.

Lots of fish camps and hunt camps struggling to survive due to the border being shut

Hopefully next year is back to normal for them

I went up in 2021 for Caribou.. and I got a small bou. I figured they would have been bigger because 2020 the border was closed. Just wondering if you guys got bigger Moose and Caribou with 2019 being closed.

I should preface by saying I wasn't trophy hunting - shot the first bull we saw which was on day 3 of a 6 day hunt. Mine was 27.5" and 8 points, definitely nothing to write home about as far as moose are concerned. Before I was there they shot a number of bulls over 30" including one about 40" with 20 some odd points, pretty good for a drive in camp. I'd be curious to know what others were seeing the rest of the season as I was there right after the hurricane, which definitely affected the animals.

I wouldn't assume that there was no hunting pressure in 2020 and 2021 just because the border was closed to foreign clients. I saw several outfitters offering discounted hunts to Canadians during this time so they could stay booked and keep paying the bills.

Had absolutely everything except, he did have narrow pans but was an incredible hunt.
