Ran into this coyote during the deer hunt in Oct. We ranged him at 585 and made the correction in the scope. My first shot went just over his back, but we were able to stay on him. With how flat the terrain was, we figure we must have ranged behind him. When he stopped on top of the hill, I figured it was "now or never", so I let one fly again. This time, the 88 ELDM hit it's mark.
For those interested, I was shooting the following:
- 88 gr ELDM with 40.3 gr RL-23 for avg MV of 3150 FPS
22-250 AI
- 22" 1:8 twist X caliber med palma
- Bighorn TL3 SA
- TT special flat blade
- Vortex PST II 5-25x
- Manners PRS2 with gen 2 mini-chassis (altus sage flats)
- Gunwerks 8ight suppressor
