Ran into this coyote during the deer hunt in Oct. We ranged him at 585 and made the correction in the scope. My first shot went just over his back, but we were able to stay on him. With how flat the terrain was, we figure we must have ranged behind him. When he stopped on top of the hill, I figured it was "now or never", so I let one fly again. This time, the 88 ELDM hit it's mark.

For those interested, I was shooting the following:

- 88 gr ELDM with 40.3 gr RL-23 for avg MV of 3150 FPS

22-250 AI
- 22" 1:8 twist X caliber med palma
- Bighorn TL3 SA
- TT special flat blade
- Vortex PST II 5-25x
- Manners PRS2 with gen 2 mini-chassis (altus sage flats)
- Gunwerks 8ight suppressor

Nice shootin. Did you re-range him before the 2nd shot or keep the same correction as the first. I tried to judge how much distance he added from the first shot but it didn't look like he went too far away as he went left.

Thanks! My brother went to get another range but I figured he was about to go over the hill. I kept the correction the same as he didn’t move too far from us, just moved to the left. He ended up being right at 600 so my correction for 585 was still pretty good. Can’t wait to get out to hunt them again!

I’m jealous of the gun man! I’ve got a 22-250 ai barrel that’s still about 14 weeks out.

You ever try it with any lighter bullets? I’ve got 1200 69g SMKs and 1000 50g vmaxs sitting here ready to load.

Very nice shot, gun setup looks great too, really like the stock. Is it too heavy to stalk around with that setup or not bad?

Thanks! Easily my favorite rifle to shoot at the moment. I’ve shot 55 gr - 88s and they’ll all shot well. I think you’ll like the SMKs!

Love the 22-250ai one of my favorite calibers. I haven’t tried the 88 eldms but mine loves the 69 tmk or 70 vld’s with great success on coyotes.

Heading out to Wyoming next weekend for rifle elk and rifle deer. Hoping to find a few more coyotes during the week as well! I've got another 100 rounds of 88 ELDMs loaded and ready to roll.
