So my neighbor a couple weeks ago find some ammo that the previous owner had left. Asks me if I want it. I sure do! We picked it up today. After he found it, he left it outside and it's rained twice. The boxes are moldy. Some look as if they've been partially submerged.

I really only want these for practice at the moment, and I have plenty of my hunting ammo that shoots well in my rifle.

What is your insight? Will they be fine to shoot? A couple that fail to fire? Or my girlfriend can use it for art? Is there any danger in trying to shoot these?

Thanks for the replies. Clean them how? I I wiped them all down with a towel and they're sitting in a warm room overnight...

Wipe them off. If there is crusty corrosion, just scotch brite or fine steel wool it off. Don't worry about discoloration, just crusty build up of green/black corrosion. You just want them to chamber correctly and not leave crud in the chamber.
